Personal Comments:
A very well written plot. It's been a while since there was a good mystery story. I loved all the connections. I will definitely try to watch the original Korean drama after. Thinking back, I don't know how I got into this drama, but I definitely started watching this drama because I really liked Arashi's PV for truth, the opening sequence for the drama, and the song itself. When I found out it was about a case regarding a detective, I found more info about it and decided to watch it (since I will most likely love it).
I find that after reading Death Note's story, I noticed there are more crime related stories focusing on the criminal side's story than I thought. However, this is one unique story where you really don't know how you can charge Naruse with murder. Naruse's always manipulating the situation such that other people who hate the one he wants to kill will end up killing them. Kind of reminds me of how Pluto does things in Tantei Gakuen Q...
But I have to say this at least. I think those parts where Ohno walks really slowly, zooming in on his eyes, and the parts where he looks up really slowly were kind of irritating me hahaha. Though for the dramatic effect of evil-ness, it was necessary, I just felt like the episode was draggy because of that lol. And is there any meaning to shower scenes at all? Well in this drama, other than the water pouring down on him like rain... I don't see why they need to put it in lol. And is it just me or does Naruse do everything very slowly? Like speaking slowly... he even turns around really slow. I guess it is to add to the evil-ness too...
The drama's ending as a whole was impressive in my opinion. I was quite emotional by the climax. It was really good. I think if done any other way, it would've not been as big of an impact. I wish there were more dramas of this genre so then I have more things to watch hahaha.
There were some very good background instrumentals. That's always a bonus for me when I have to rate dramas. =)
Note:
- I just saw this clip and it said Ohno can't drive but he was driving in the drama, I wonder how that works... lol.
- It's Ohno's first drama with a main lead role! (I think...)
- I read this translation of Ohno's thoughts of casting as Naruse, the director/producer type person chose Ohno because he is usually quiet and gentle in public appearances and because of that, it will make him that much more scarier in the drama since it'll be like "an unknown side surfacing" which is so true!!
Drama Notes: (SPOILERISH)
- Naruse and his sister's part of the story was unexpectedly touching...
- the ending of the Serizawa family was unexpectedly touching too...
- Naruse and the little girl, Sora's part of the story was really touching too...
- Naruse and Shiori's love story was unexpected for me since I didn't think she could get to him fully but she did... (that letter was just T_T)
- I really loved the part when they played truth as the insert song for ep 8 and 11, it's full of emotion...
- Ohno's smile and voice was perfect for his role which was unexpected, displayed his dual personality fully

Because I really like the song, I wrote this up... I'm sure there are many more but I can't remember much anymore hahaha... I really like it when they choose the theme song with references to the complete drama so that when you listen to the song, important scenes of the drama will float around in your mind.
With this much implication, you can't help but wonder which came first. Was the drama's story in the mind of the composer and lyricist? Or did they just coincidentally release an Arashi song where it happens to fit with Maou's themes?
