Beating Chrono Cross... =D finally
I did it! There were a lot of complications in between but I DID IT! I beat Chrono Cross! The ending was very very lovely... (the song T_T that was lovely too) I really really liked it. It had a different style then FF (it had real life people in the ending! That was so cool!) but I think it's a style that is as appreciable as FF. I hope people will learn to like it as much as FF because that's how I feel! ^ ^
Though, it took me 3 tries to beat the final boss because a 'certain' author of a walkthrough wrote the wrong element colour sequence and I followed it to launch the Chrono Cross element >_<. I could've beaten it the first time I tried but because I had the wrong element sequence... x_x I feel so stupid now.
Another thing that I'm mad about at the moment is I overwrote the file that I had just before the final boss with the element grid and equipment all ordered. I saw that the walkthrough mentioned there was a "Continue+" which means I can load the file I saved before the final boss again with everything intact but the difference is I've beaten the game with that file. So I thought it was safe to overwrite it. However... I found out that I can't load that file ever again! They've branded it as "completed game". O_O I've lost that file!!! Luckily I saved before I beat the first form of the Time Devourer. So I can just beat it again and hopefully save a file again but I don't think I'll do that since I can live without it I guess. But still.... T_T
Another thing I want to mention is the New Game+ format of Chrono Cross compared to Chrono Trigger. Chrono Trigger's New Game+ is much simpler in my opinion. All you have to do is pick a file and it will load that file's data but with a new game. Of course, Chrono Cross does that too. But it doesn't lock up the file saying that it was completed. I wasn't even told that I wouldn't be able to access it either! ARGHHHHH! What's even more confusing is Chrono Cross' "Continue+". What is the point of that if you can only load the games that aren't "completed"? Then it's just like loading it with regular "Continue", except I think you get the "Time Shifter" key item. I just don't get it. That reminds me of another thing that I am mad at. THE ITEMS IN NEW GAME+... WHY ARE THEY ALL GONE??? Even for Chrono Trigger's New Game+, it's like starting the game all over again and the treasure chests are reset so you get 'x' sets of items for how many 'x' times you play it. I played the first part of Chrono Cross again and the treasure chests are all GONE! I CANNOT believe it! (However, special items can be taken still i.e. Serge's savings under the bed) The summons are all gone too. I can get it again I'm sure but it makes you wonder why you have to get it the first time if you could just wait and get it in New Game+?
That's my rant for today. Even though there were many complications, I still loved the whole experience. This time for sure... I'll see all of the endings of Chrono Cross! (Even though I haven't seen all the endings for Chrono Trigger =P) I'll try my hardest for CC! (Just because I have to play it 3 times anyways to get all 44 characters anyways.) I'm just missing... Guile, Pierre, Razzly, Korcha, Mel, and Janice I haven't had time to get her yet. I have to play card games or something for that o_o Guess what, I have to evolve Pip again since it's New Game+. Isn't that fun? =P
