This is about a case that I just heard about going on in Texas. The families being held entered the US LEGALLY and have not broken any laws, but are still being held in jail, including incredibly young children.

Here is an email that was send out:

Dear PSC Supporters:

As more information about the Palestinian families held in the Texas jails comes out, we find ourselves further appalled at the carelessness and callousness of our justice system. These families, all of which have impeccable records, are being held for an indefinite period of time. The more action there is surrounding their case, the more likely we can expedite their hearing so that these children are no longer kept in cold cells.

There ARE ways you can help:

If you will be in the San Antonio area, or can make it to the area, please join Ahamad Ibrahim, a relative of one of the families in protest with his 3 year old daughter tomorrow at 3pm. More information about the protest and about the general poor conditions of the detainees can be found below:

Funds are being collected for legal services, etc. Contact Riad from the Palestine Children’s Welfare Fund at pcwfaustin@yahoo.com to find out how you can make a tax-deductible contribution.

Riad makes frequent visits to the families at the Hutto “Residential Facility” to provide them with phone cards to communicate with family, provide them with snacks (since they cannot eat the pork they are being fed), and moral support. If you would like to join him in visiting the families, please do not hesitate to contact him.

Also, it is important that the word gets out! If you have any contacts with new sources, human rights or legal organizations, etc., please notify them as soon as you can.

Contact your representatives! Make sure our voices are heard.
