Israel's "humanity" shines through

Aug 10, 2006 02:06

At this point, Israeli planes are dropping pamphlets in South Lebanon making it known to all who are still in villages and towns in this area that any vehicle movement will be assumed to be terrorist and targetted (this is a literal translation of one of those flyers, not exaggerated). This while they are being told to leave these areas. But wait, they can't be in vehicles. And there are no bridges or roads left anyway. So they should walk. But wait, there are people with disabilities, old people and children, and basically anybody who can't walk hours upon hours to leave the South. And now there is a curfew (a FUCKING curfew?!?!), so any walking should be over and done with before 7pm, ie in the dead heat of the day. Does this sound like a death march to ANYONE else?

And if you end up staying, because it's too risky to go anywhere and you're basically being told to stay put anyway? Well, you're basically going to starve to death or die of disease, because:
Israel's promise of a humanitarian corridor is exposed as a sham.

"Humanity" begets resistance in various forms

And pray tell, what does all this show of "humanity" accomplish? Well, you basically hear this from the mouths of children and youths: "We are ready to fight, we are ready to die!" But then statements like 'dying for your country' are only positive when they apply to the US and Israel. If you are talking about an Arab country, then you are classified as a terrorist.

This is actually a little bit amusing: Israelis getting a taste of their own medicine in Fiji! They didn't quite get it, by the sound of it.

Resistance begets "Big Brother" in the US

And those of you in the States, don't think you're safe either. Detroit area Arabs (and Muslims and those who look like or work with or support Arabs and Muslims) beware! The FBI is watching!

Needing to end on a progressive note

Petition for US Jewish Solidarity with Muslim and Arab Peoples of the Middle East. Please, if you identify as a Jewish person in the States, sign this and pass along to as many US Jews as you know.
