Honestly, I didn't care about the majority of the stuff I lost. It's losing my writing that cuts the most. The good news is that the majority of it actually is backed up on a zip disk. And a couple SVU chapters are saved in my webmail. The bad news is that the rest of my new stuff isn't.
How much stuff, in a nutshell: 2 SVU AU's, one A/O, the other A/E, the remainder of the Olivia/Keller, 5 drabbles I'd completed, a BSG Kara/Laura fic. And then there's the original fic. I had two webisodes I'd been planning to premiere in Oct, now all that stuff's gone. The only good thing about those is that everything I'd written was either in a notebook or printed out. But the websites will have to all be constructed from scratch and the fic's retyped.
The other good news, anything written before February of last year was backed up on zip drive but, it's gonna be a couple days before I get all that stuff transferred over.
That sucks, had that happen more than once. Even had to walk away before because the urge to toss the computer out of the window it was in front of was far to great for me to deny that much longer.
I now look at my computer as very much like a video game, whenever it's humanly possible, SAVE!
