Wed TV Time...Alias and Lost

May 18, 2006 19:16

Okay, this is a little late, had a late-night writing session that didn't want to end.

Alias - First off, WTF with Vaughn shooting the prison guard in the back? The guy wasn't part of Project 5 but some random dude doing his job, ie, protecting his fellow co-worker from getting his ass kicked by a prisoner! He wasn't trying to kill Sydney, so, no, TPTB don't get any points for Vaughn coming to Syd's rescue. Especially, when he could have just knocked the guy out. Go away, Vaughn!! I hate you and your wrinkly brow!

It also brought up one of my main nitpicks regarding plots such as these. You know, continuous good versus evil plots, except it always seems like the bad guys are seventeen steps ahead and the good guys are playing catch-up. So, you get Sydney finally retrieving "the rose" only to get whacked by Sloane and have the item stolen. It's just, ugh, could you guys stop being so damn stupid just ONCE!?! Part Alias has always been about Sydney getting out of impossible situations. But, for the past couple seasons, those situations have been because the CIA is run by MORONS!! And reinforces my belief that there's no way in HELL that Syd is Irina and Jack's daughter!

And poor, sweet, hot, dim as a broken light bulb, Rachel. I really hope they reveal that she's a mole in the finale because no one besides Syd and Vaughn should be that stupid. Plus, I don't care about Balthazar Getty and his 'you killed my wife, prepare to die' man-pain. Dear PTB, thanks for wasting precious minutes of the final episodes on the world's most boring and unnecessary storyline. I hope SpyDaddy kicks his ass.

Funny thing is, aside from the nits, this was one of the *better* episodes this season. Plus, I could watch Syd beat the crap outta Sark all day! Heh, and as I was watching Syd and Peyton walk into Sloane's office, all I could think was 'you know Peyton hit that on the trip there!'.

Lost - Another good ep. And thank GOD the flashbacks were about something relevant. I was afraid we were going to get a Michael gathers the crew while we learn 'absolutely nothing except one scene regarding a character not involved in the A-plot again'.

Although, I'm going to go ahead and say we the audience can start saying our goodbye's to Michael and Walt because I don't think either are long for this show. Sure, Michael was desperate and panicked but I'm not sure how the character can come back after intentionally killing two people. Yes, Libby was an accident, but Ana-Lucia was so totally not.

I know these people have serious trust issues and they're currently dealing with alot of shit all at once but you'd think someone, and by someone I mean *you* Kate, would have put two and two together regarding the Others and the costumes. Even though you were looking seventeen different kinds of hot tonight. Too bad Ana died before the two of you could make out.

And Yay! for Charlie tossing the heroin into the ocean. Sure, Jack's gonna be hella pissed seeing as how he might still need it for medicinal purposes. But, it's not like Charlie's got that great a throw and Jack looks like a good swimmer. Plus, I was actually *happy* to see Charlie. Happy! So, Dear PTB, maybe you could take some tips from Grey's on how to juggle a large cast, instead of having the same four people on every week.

Finally, Hee! to Jack being Sawyer's only friend. You're still a rascist jackass doing everything in your power to reinforce the negative stereotype regarding Southerners, Sawyer. And if Jack's your only friend you have no one to blame but your own damn self. But, it was good if only for the expression on Jack's face!

So, here's to next week and what looks to be a good season finale.

ETA: It was revealed at the ABC Upfront that, starting next season, Lost would premiere in the fall with eight consecutive episodes. Then, go on hiatus, where in the Spring the remaining episodes would air without interruption. If there was anything killing my interest in this show it was the erratic scheduling that got so bad you had *no idea* if the latest episode was new or not! So, kudos to ABC for that. You still get no biscuit for moving Grey's but baby steps..baby steps.
