(no subject)
So, I'm in Montpelier, VT for the night, after the first leg of driving. I'm going to try a few things with LJ and a few other services as I go along. Among other things, I want to know how powerful this site is (at the free level) and what my various pieces of technology can really do. For instance, the above link (assuming it works) links to a Google map of where I am right now. I'll be tweaking things like that more later.
For now, I will be content with some multimedia brought to you via my camera (Canon PowerShot G4, oldish but goldish)
If that worked, it was a video of the van as we finished packing. Let's hope it is.
We got moving and managed to hit... RUSH HOUR!

Next stop was the VT visitor's center.
It's a really pretty place, no? I've been there before on a trip a few years back and it's a nice little spot. Would've reported in from here on the VT wifi, but it costs money, so no.

Interestingly enough, the lady on duty used to live in Grafton. She's the wife of the former Baptist minister in town and she remembered me from when I was itty bitty (don't ask why a Baptist knows me, it's complicated) and and my parents from town government stuff. Kinda freaky.
After that we dig a swing through at Marlboro College (yeah, I really want to go there still) which is in the middle of Fucking Nowhere. I love it.
Finally we made our way to Montpelier for dinner and hotel. i don't have more pics and video yet, since that'd be silly for this part of the trip. Besides, this is all dicking around still anyhow.
