man, I love going to the 820 Bar for Happy Hour, but then I just keep drinking after that. Yesterday after my workout, I met Shelley at the 820. We were just going to have one drink but Chad was working and kept bringing mojito after mojito. Then (after an outfit change) we met up with Jualdo, Gregory and Rocky at Slaughters. It was "country and western night" and it was very surreal. Then (after another outfit change!) we went to the Holocene, it was pretty fun. I was glad I went because Amber was having a hard night with her ex-gf being a jerk to her. I also had fun dancing with my friend Haley and dancing with this cute bear who showed up. It was totally hot dancing with him and we never exchanged names or talked except after dancing to the Scissor Sisters, I leaned over to him, gave him a peck on the cheek and said "thanks, sugar" and was whisked away by Shelley who was waiting to leave. Its good to be mysterious sometimes, no? although I defintely wouldn't mind seeing him again and picking up where we left off....
The aching in my head this morning when my alarm went off at 7am was my penance for lastnight though. oh well, after work I'll pick up Tyler at the airport and then take a nap and go out to booty tonight. I talked with Tyler on the phone for a while this morning, he sounds so much better which is good because I want his last few days here to be enjoyable for him and for us. Yay, we love happy Tyler, we don't like stressball Tyler! jeez, and we wonder why people think we're boyfriends sometimes. lol
Got mine and Gentry's ticket for the train trip from SF back to Portland. I found a deal online to get a free "companion ticket" with the purchase of a regular full-price one. The only catch is I had to pretend that Gentry is a high school senior coming to Portland to look at colleges and that I'm his accompanying guardian. lol oh well, at least now the ticket will only cost us each $50 instead of $100!
I'm excited because in the next couple of weeks there are some volunteer trainings at
CAP (Cascade AIDS Project), mostly to do bar outreach (give safer sex tools, testing referrals, etc) and I can't wait to get started on this. I figure I need to start volunteering now that way when I apply to nursing school in a couple of years, I'll have this under my belt and also since my focus is going to be on queer health issues, this just makes sense.
ah, also this morning I stopped by Portland Nursery and I'd never really been there before. I could spend HOURS there, its so cool! I bought a couple of aloe vera plants, a beautiful medium-sized dracanea, a tiny pot of fuchsia maninka, some green leaf lettuce starts, and some gorgeous purple velvet hanging foliage. I can't wait to dig up the bushes in front of the house and put some tomato plants. I also want to get some herbs and seeds....and....and....and.... ok, who wants to take another trip with me out to Portland Nursery when I get back from S.F.??
