A week in brief.

Had a pretty sweet week all things considered and I'm just left wondering if all the buzz and excitement's going to be milked from this small isle soon. Went to Sentosa in a shameless attempt to get a tan. Almost suffered a major meltdown but after a couple of beers to lazy bossa nova and the setting sun, i was genuinely sad to leave.

Let's see, i've also bagged myself 4 parking violations in 2 weeks and my parents have sworn not to foot a single fine of mine anymore. which just sucks, cos the last one i got was 70 bucks. tried to appeal my way out of it with this elaborately orchastrated tale, which the officer totally dug, until she found out i didn't own a singapore license. Then i just couldnt get outta the area fast enough cos she threatened to open an investigation on me.

Did some shopping about town with S, got pretty sloshed in the evening and was left wondering around Orchard in a brightly peppered red panas face while waiting for the rest of the folks to catch the opening of Mr. & Mrs Smith... Which i totally dug on a brainless level. I've found that much of the media which alligns itself to the more Intellectual Camp has taken on the stance of bashing this movie to bits. But really now.. who really goes into such a show expecting complex plots, scathingly erudite observations and subtle innuendoes. singaporeans should really chill out a little. what's wrong in publicly admitting we enjoy no brainers or actually speak singlish in our dreams. idiosyncrasies are what's going to salvage us from a blandness we're hovering precariously close to.

hmm let's see. Went pre-drinking with C at Bedok Market before Somebody's birthday and we got carded. they thought i was fucking 17. The utter embarassmenet as i tried to fish out my IC while all these old timers sat around with their bottles of tiger staring at us.

Oh then i finally managed to play mahjong.. again! Which was all the sweeter cos i trashed another certain somebody. Headed down to Rouge and later Liquid room. which was way more fun than i had anticipated. They were playing a really pretty decent trance set, and it has been a while since i've done this whole stumbling out from clubs and heading to supper through an ethanolic miasma.

As another first, i caught a rugby game live and perhaps got a little gist of how the thing works. Met an old classmate seating on the bleachers and we all headed for dinner at Geylang after. which is a first for me since coming home.

it's been really nice coming home. but er yeah. not to detract from pertinent issues. I need to get myself a job
