Saturday in LA

Mar 21, 2005 10:57

woke up early on fri, anticipating a phone interview but found myself with an email postponing it cos she was ill. Which was all well and good as i packed my stuff and headed for LA. Had some kickass beef crispy noodles thing after arrving and headed back to the pepperdine campus in a porsche cayenne (all the better to park illegaly on sidewalks).

Spent the better part of saturday lazing around to gear up for the big night ahead.
Lined up for an hour at Pink's for a damn chilli cheese dog and roamed Melrose looking for a pipe.
Visited someone else at an apartment so nice, we were late to head off for Armin.
Got there to find 3 queues had formed, spanning the size of 2 large carparks and found our friends had abandoned line, thinking we weren't going.
Schemed, lied and connived our way into a spot in the second line and waited, again, for 1.5 hours.
11.30 and we got chased away, turnd out tickets were sold out and people in the first line were still queueing.
B and I found ourselves transportationless, partyless, friendless and lots of time on our hands, so we lingered around for another hour at the closed fence. SUch groupies. While lingering, made friends with Thais, japs, a yugoslav, philippinoes, hispanics and ironically, many 40 year old raver mainland dudes. like how fucking wrong is that.
12.30 Someone bouncer took pity on us and let us in to join queue 1. another waiting game. Stood around for a half hour when 2 mainland-chinese-40-year-old-dudes sold us their presale tix for below market rate cos their girlfriends were tired.
spent another hour waiting at the pre sale tix line and FINALLY made it into the club. it i wasn't so flexible, if the weather wasn't so good, if we had a car, and if they didn't play the music loud enough to tease those of us waiting outside, i would never have stood for this nonsense.

but MAN was that club tripping. SO So fucking surreal it was almost scary.
