As one relationship dies a little bit more, an old one is reborn

I've had some more trouble with the parents lately. Last friday we went out to dinner to celebrate my father's birthday. On the way to the restaurant, my parents ask who I put as my benificiaries on my life insurance policy I get through my work. When they found out it was my cousin Jessica and James, they flipped out that it wasn't them. My dad started yelling and cussing and saying how wrong I was. My mom was screaming. They brought up the 60k debt from my mental hospital stays (I knew I shouldn't have gone crazy, but everyone else was doing it). Dinner was quiet and extremely tense until my dad went to the restroom. Mother starts going off on me, and won't even let say why I chose them (they were damn good reasons too). At this point I really need a cigarette, a cocktail, and to get the hell out of there. I start screaming at her to shut the fuck up, right in the restaurant. We leave and they start complaing about how if I die they'll have to pay for their own daughter's funeral with their own money. I told them one reason I'm giving it to James is because he knows how I want it. My dad says well tell us. I get 2 sentences in, and he says he doesn't want to hear anymore. My mother keeps asking if I'm mad in a concerned voice, like how could I possibly be mad? I have not talked to them since.

Last night a miracle happened I finally found Brandy. You all never had the oppurtunity to meet her. Brandy was my best friend in junior high and high school. She stuck by me when noone else would. I haven't seen her in 3 years. I've been trying to find her for a year, to no avail. One thing I did was create a profile on reunion.com. A year later I got an email saying she had visited my profile. I had to pay $36 for a subscription to send her a damn message. She got it and called me today. I get to see her tomorrow. I am so fucking excited.
