The good:
The 12.4 miles to WW and back was good, much much easier than last week, biked in higher gears, got much closer to home before I felt wiped out. I have almost figured out how to change gears with out thinking too much about it. Which is good because I get it wrong half the time if I think about it. I can't keep track of how to go up and down.
The really nice: A woman in the meeting mentioned a suggestion that I had made last week that really helped her out. The leader also said that she used it all week in her meetings. The idea is that if you are at a party with lots of yummy foods, make yourself a reasonable plate of your favorites or that cookie you really really want. Put it aside and grab it on your way out the door. This way you know that you will have what you want but you won't eat 6 times more than you need. Once I start on sugar I keep eating it until it is gone. At the end of the meeting there was a discussion about goals and I suggested that you don't use weight but rather things that you can control (like counting and exercise). I mentioned that I was grumpy because I am UP :-(!!!!! after doing all the right things. My milk is down so NO I won't eat less than I am that seems stupid. Anyway the same woman came up to me after the meeting and asked if I always come to the meeting. She told me that she really needs me there. Lesson here. If someone is making a difference to you say so. I felt so nice on my way home that I am helping people out. I will need to make a better point of thanking people this week.
The sucky: I am up 0.6 back to where I started. Given how much my weight varies, the fact that I biked etc... it is all in the noise. But it SUCKS. Oh well.
On another note, my tags have expired on my car, as was the plan but I was going to DEQ it tomorrow. DEQ is closed on Mondays. So I guess I am biking Monday to my meeting. It is near where I was supposed to start my "job" so should be fun. Lots of hills :-(.
Instead of trying to bike some place I think I am going to use money saved by biking. My guess is that at current gas prices it costs 10cents a mile to drive and 10 cents a mile in other stuff. so a total of .20 cents a mile.
Numbers:
This week
Bike 12.4 -- 2.50 saved from driving.
Walk: 0
Total:
31.3 miles bike
6.5 miles walking
