Events of the game [ Personality ] :
Princess Zelda is, well, a princess, as the title suggests! Her demeanor is kind, regal and, above all else, exceedingly gentle. She's a good princess who thinks the world of her kingdom and its people, and works hard to ensure that they live happy lives. She is cold and demanding of those who would do wrong and are in need of punishment, and yet forgiving towards those who mean to atone for their mistakes. She knows her lot in life, and does her best to live up to what she is expected to be.
Fortunately that's not where her personality ends, or she would be quite the flat character! Beyond this perfectly princesstastic persona, she is still very much a young teenaged girl. She likes pink, adores cute things, and tends to be bubbly and giggly more often than not. She has no shortage of optimism and friendliness, believing the power of teamwork to be the solution to most of the problems she encounters on her journey. She can also be surprisingly selfish, worrisome, and even impulsive. Fortunately, her impulsiveness tends to work in her favor and can be likened more towards resourcefulness than anything else. It is said impulsiveness that causes her to first possess the Phantom Armor, and she comments at the time that she simply acted on her own feelings without knowing what would happen. She is equally capable of both stopping to think about a situation or charging in based on an instinctual act- it depends entirely upon how she is feeling at the moment.
Speaking of feeling, while Zelda normally proves to be a very sweet and energetic girl, it simply isn't possible for her to always be full of sunshine and rainbows. She has her fair share of moments where she loses hope, worries for the safety of herself and others, and isn't strong enough to continue smiling on her own. Tweak the appropriate buttons and you can set off quite the flare inside of her as well, whether it be channeled into grim determination or a most terrifying and righteous fury. Her bad side is not anything you ever want to be on, because when she flips out, she flips the heck out. You might liken her to a stick of dynamite with a very, very long fuse. She is also honest, almost brutally so. This is likely due to the fact that only one person could hear her speak for the majority of the game, rendering the repercussions of being overheard by the one she's talking about moot. She can be downright critical of what she finds strange or doesn't understand, and has no problem voicing her concern if she thinks something is wrong.
When dealing with people on a daily basis, Zelda is usually friendly and good-natured. She has a general respect for all people: even those she finds particularly strange will still be treated courteously. However, her knowledge of the difference between social classes still shows, and the way she acts around others sits on a constantly sliding scale of formality and informality. The higher your social status (or similarly, the more positive her first impression of you), the more formal and respectful she is, though this can be counterbalanced by how long she has known you. She is more likely to be informal around a close friend, even a respected close friend, than she is around someone she has only just met.
When dealing with closer friends, she feels its fine to let her guard drop. She's cheerful, feisty and can even be a little playful. Her personal bubble and the idea of physical contact both become less of an issue as well; if anything, she'll be the first one to initiate the high-five of victory after a job well done. She cares a great deal for those she has managed to form bonds with, and when they are out of sight she can often be seen fretting over their safety and well-being even if they've proven themselves to be perfectly competent and capable fellows.
[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Zelda's strengths lie primarily in her stubborn personality and unyielding optimism, as even with her body intact she's not very physically strong and is by no means a fighter. She's got some pretty leet bow skills, though! Not that they matter at the moment, but it's something to be mentioned.
Oh, and did I mention that she is absolutely, completely and totally terrified of rats? Ha, yes, just rats. Demons? No problem! Ogres? Meh, she's seen bigger. Giant fire-breathing dragons? Let's mock 'em by roasting marshmallows in the flames they bellow! Zelda is plenty courageous and shares no lack of enthusiasm for adventuring, but present her with her number one feared object and she will be reduced to a shivering mass of pitiful goo, completely unable to do anything but freeze on the spot and shriek for help. The game plays this up for laughs and I intend to do the same, but keep in mind that this is still a crippling phobia; it is not, and will not ever be something she can overcome by herself.
Zelda is fairly run-of-the-mill as a ghost. She can hover/fly, can't feel anything except for temperature and wind, doesn't get hungry or thirsty, and can completely phase through physical objects. She can also shrink herself down to an orb form, of sorts, becoming travel size for your convenience! Unlike normal ghosts, however, she has no ability to manipulate or possess objects, save for one thing: Phantom Armor. She won't be bringing said armor with her, but should any plots at Vatheon decide to grant her with some, I'll list the four types here and their individual capabilities.
Phantom: The main standard. These things are massively strong, equipped with a huge sword and tons of brute strength besides, able to stop a rolling boulder as big as themselves with minimal effort (unless it happens to be rolling very very fast). They are also impervious to most types of environmental damage; able to walk through fire, spiked floors, electricity, and lava with no problem. Dark and Light magic affect them, however, and being hit with a weapon will still cause Zelda pain while she's possessing the armor. She also complains that it is stuffy inside them.
Torch Phantom: Same abilities as the normal phantom, only now the armor is red and the sword is on fire. The sword will light up pretty much anything that is flammable, and can hurt ghosts.
Warp Phantom: Same abilities as the normal phantom, and in addition they can teleport to anywhere a "Phantom Eye" enemy is located. Armor is blue!
Wrecker Phantom: Yep, same abilities as the normal phantom, in addition to literally transforming into a giant boulder when in motion. Black armor.

[ Sample ] :
She was confused at first, but as soon as she spotted it she knew she was in luck. It was just like her elder had described: a bright sphere of light with fluttering, semi-translucent wings, often tinged a rather fitting color (in her case, pink!). Link would call a creature similar to this with the Spirit Flute whenever he needed healing, but this one was different, she could tell! It so reminded her of the legends of old...
And that's why Zelda found herself chatting rather animatedly with her fairy companion after waking up in her newfound home.
"And now, despite being on the verge of the final battle, I somehow found myself here, at the bottom of the sea! I'm not entirely sure what to do next..."
Blue eyes flitted to her fairy excitedly, awaiting a response. Silence followed.
"It would be wonderful if you could provide me with any sort of clue or hint as to where I should go from here."
Still silent.
"Go on, no need to be shy!" she encouraged it (It? No, "it" sounds so formal and cold. She would have to inquire about her fairy's gender next!). "Surely you have something to say about all this- your thoughts on the matter, a bit of fairy wisdom, some unsolicited advice..." she paused, "Well, in this case, the advice would actually be very much appreciated."
The only thing more silent than this fairy would be... nothing. Zelda let out a huff, pouting as she placed her hands on her hips.
"I don't understand! The fairies from the stories my grandma told me were all a great deal more talkative than you..."
