Hurts So Good
I just got an email informing me that my paper on James Baldwin's "Going to Meet the Man" was accepted to the Fourth Annual University of Wisconsin-Madison Graduate Student Conference: Sex, Lies and Literature.
The Good:
1) I will be presenting a paper at one of the PhD programs I have applied to right around the time they are making decisions.
2) This will be the fourth conference I attend this year; I never expected a CV to develop so quickly.
The Hurt:
1) Out of four weekends covering the end of February / beginning of March, I will be out of town at conferences for three, all of which occur before my thesis deadline and in the midst of prime writing time.
2) I have notes and some materials, but two of those papers have yet to be written.
