Thursday night went better than I possibly could have imagined. It was hard and sad. but some good talking can get you far. Sorcery under the stars at Jordan Lake is also pretty nice. And Dr. Who makes you smarter, even the soundtrack.
When I finally got home, I binged on episodes of Heroes until 4 in the morning for reasons too complicated and personal for this space.
So there is one little bad thing about the weather. I'm not complaining, no no, but apparently when it is a beautiful Friday, everyone leaves work an hour early, which ruins my carefully laid plans to avoid traffic jams. It's ok though. I was recently taught a tough (i.e. expensive) lesson that it is always be better to be patient while driving. Based on unusual traffic patterns it seems like a lot people were headed for the beach, which is cool, but it seems just a little bit chilly for the ocean.
On top of my two speeding tickets, I dropped some cash today on the second half of the piano tuning and repairs, which means I am now really poor. If I hadn't already scheduled this piano stuff before going to court, I wouldn't have gone through with it, but I didn't want to cancel.
In other news on materialism, I am going to receive a kayak as payment for yard work. yay, Kayak!
I am not looking forward to the piles of homework.
