Continuing the astonishing run of luck here at trailofdebt world headquarters, I have somehow managed to break my Visor Handspring PDA.
I don't know what happened. I realized I didn't have it when I went home for lunch, and I was scared I had lost it. But then it was on my desk when I got back to work. I didn't think anything about it until just now. Pulled it out and the glass was shattered and there's a weird swirly pattern on the screen.
No, the data was not backed up. But you probably figured that.
I guess it's mostly an inconvenience. I'll have to get everyone's address again, and call and doublecheck all this stuff that I know is scheduled but not exactly when. I don't have my beloved to-the-penny record of where my money's gone.
I'm most sad about losing some journal entries I jotted down in airports and hotel lobbies and guest rooms and cruise ship cabins. And the personal history that was in days off and flight times and to-do lists and appointments.
My menstrual history for the past couple of years is now lost to the ages.
The Visor was the only thing that has ever helped me be remotely organized. That was a big accomplishment for one gadget.
I kind of want to cry. But there are some other factors at play, too.
Ah well.
