Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning     HD720p 29MB
First trailer for what will be the 8th, and possibly last entry in the long running franchise, to be in theatres in May. No meaningful plot summary is yet available. Besides Tom Cruise, returning cast members include Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Vanessa Kirby, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff and Henry Czerny. Listed new additions include Angela Bassett, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman and Janet McTeer. Like the previous three films it again will be directed by Christopher McQuarrie.

The Return     HD720p 36MB
Classical drama based on part of Homer's poem in which, after 20 years Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) finally returns to Ithaca, where he finds his wife Penelope (Juliette Binoche) held prisoner by suitors vying to be king and his son facing death at their hands. To win back his family and all he has lost, Odysseus must rediscover his strength.
To be prepared for what to expect, despite some "action" towards the end, this is more Shakespearean drama than Hollywood "Clash of the Titans". Festival reviews are a bit mixed.

Captain America: Brave New World     HD720p 36MB
Second, tense trailer for a new Marvel movie that will feature the new Captain America, to be in theatres in February. After meeting with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross (Harrison Ford), Sam (Anthony Mackie) finds himself in the middle of an international incident. He must discover the reason behind a nefarious global plot before the true mastermind has the entire world seeing red. Also part of the cast are Danny Ramirez, Carl Lumbly, Shira Haas, Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Rosa Salazar and Giancarlo Esposito. Directed by Julius Onah (The Cloverfield Paradox, Luce).
Will probably be a serious test if there's still demand for movies from the MCU.

The End     HD1080p 17MB
Sombre musical about a family in denial at the end of the world that marks the feature film debut by Joshua Oppenheimer, who so far has been known for two Oscar-nominated documentaries (The Act of Killing, The Look of Silence). It's about a naive young man (George MacKay) who was born in this bunker. In his 20 years of life, he has only heard stories of the outside world. He spends his days working on a dubious book with his father (Michael Shannon), a former energy tycoon, while his mother (Tilda Swinton) frets over the upkeep of the many priceless paintings and artworks adorning their walls. It’s the semblance of a normal (albeit affluent) life. But when a woman (Moses Ingram) from the outside arrives at their doorstep seeking refuge, the family’s delicate dynamic begins to crumble.
Festival reviews are mixed, but it sure is an interesting mix.

Emilia Pérez     HD1080p 21MB
Speaking of unusual musicals, here's a daring thriller melodrama directed by Jacques Audiard (A Prophet, The Sisters Brothers, The Beat That My Heart Skipped). Overqualified and undervalued, Rita (Zoe Saldana) is a lawyer at a large firm that is more interested in getting criminals off the hook than bringing them to justice. One day, she is given an unexpected way out, when cartel leader Manitas (Karla Sofía Gascón) hires her to help him withdraw from his business and realize a plan he has been secretly preparing for years: to become the woman he has always dreamt of being. Selena Gomez, Adriana Paz, Mark Ivanir and Edgar Ramírez are also part of the cast.
The female ensemble cast won the Best Actress Award this year in Cannes, it's now France's submission for Best Foreign Film. Release varies by country, but it today started streaming on Netflix in the US. I can only offer a downloadable link to a song-only trailer. Full trailer on YouTube.
