Shrink, Final Destination, It Might Get Loud, District 9

It was a very slow week when it comes to trailers. There also isn't much in the backlog I want to post, that leaves some room for something completely different. Like how it looks like when Star Trek meets Monty Python. And a brief, 30-second discussion about the differences between Star Trek and Star Wars.
The always interesting Explainer column from Slate.com offers some calculations How Many Balloons Would It Take To Lift a House. And the most recent column answers some of the questions you might have because of the tragic and still mysterious death of David Carradine: Strangle With Care.

Shrink     HD480p 46MB   HD720p 111MB
Comedic drama about LA's top celebrity shrink (Kevin Spacey) who's unable to cope with a recent personal tragedy, turns into a pothead with no concern for his appearance and a creeping sense of his inability to help his patients. Also part of the cast are Saffron Burrows, Dallas Roberts, Keke Palmer, Pell James, Mark Webber, Robin Williams and Robert Loggia.
Trailer looks nice though reviews from Sundance where the movie premiered indicate that it's not as good as it could've been. But Spacey seems a lot of fun to watch.

The Final Destination     HD480p 43MB   HD720p 98MB
Aka Final Destination 4. Nope, I don't know either who called for another sequel of this horror franchise. But I guess the sequels are so cheap to make that it's a winning formula for the companies involved. After a teen's premonition of a deadly race-car crash helps saves the lives of his peers, Death sets out to collect those who evaded their end. Directed by David R. Ellis (Snakes on a Plane, Final Destination 2, Cellular).
And good news, the death scenes have been optimised for 3D viewing. Probably half of them can already be seen in the trailer.

It Might Get Loud     11 MB
Edit: Hi-def quicktime versions: 480p 49MB   720p 119MB.
Documentary on the electric guitar from the point of view of three significant rock musicians: The Edge of U2, Jimmy Page of Led Zeppelin and Jack White of The White Stripes. Directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Gracie).

District 9     HD480p 35MB   HD720p 82MB
Those of you who recently watched the teaser for this interesting looking low budget sci-fi movie made in documentary-like style in which an extraterrestrial race which is forced to live in slum-like conditions on Earth suddenly finds a kindred spirit in a government agent that is exposed to their biotechnology, and who were wondering why the alien faces were blurred, here's the unblurred version. Seems like the aliens' lawyers gave their okay to allow showing their faces and the linguistic department also has made some progress translating their language since there are now subtitles when they are talking.
