Failures
Well, I just don't even know where to begin. I find myself wrapped in a situation that even I am not sure where to go with, or how to fix.
Red and Knight were having issues where they were living. Red wanted to move north, knight wanted to (eventually) move somewhere. With my encouragment, they decided to try the move.
Now...
Move itself went over budget, fuel costs were higher then planned, and they ended up keeping the truck an extra day, so that things could get put into storage.
Existing funds will not support moving into the apartment that they picked, and were accepted for.
Her folks, who had said that they could stay there until they were settled, now have the landlord telling them that they can only be there a week. That expires next Monday.
Her job, assisting her mom is only going to give her 30 hours every 2 weeks, not 40 each. He is still searching.
Additional: Now the couch we have set aside for them needs to be moved as soon as possible. Just more pressure in this...arrgh!
The move date, which we had discussed, wasn't finalized until we thought the pieces above were in place. Once he gave me a go, I bought my plane ticket down to help with the move. I could have bought any date, as long as it was over 2 weeks out.
Why do I feel so wrapped up in this, like I can't seperate myself from the situation. Is it my feelings for Red, and my friendship for Knight that are clouding my judgement. As I look back, based on the information I was given, the mission should have been good, but it looks like the information I received was bad. Where is my obligation in this situation.
I'm open for any advice that is out there! I'm goign to screen comments on this one...
