Tuesday I had a day scheduled off so that I could attend a poly meetup in Portland. They have come along way since the original ones at Denny's where we had to speak in hushed tones of things that might make the mere mortals blush or choke on their BLT's. Got to meet some really cool people, and the discussion panel was kind of fun. I never imagined that I would possibly the one that would get the been-there-done-that t-shirt. I guess over 8 years, I have probably experienced most of the pitfalls and things that can happen in life.
I'm happy to share my experiences and help people learn from them, and always glad to meet others who live as I do. Mary enjoyed herself and I think learned a bit about us.
Amanda got a little bit bored and Bri headed home early with her. Mary and I took a quick ferry ride to Long Island and back in the moonlight, and enjoyed that thoroughly.
Wed (today in my world...I won't sleep till Thursday afternoon) I kind of lounged around the house a bit with Mary while Bri was at my moms. We spend some time sitting in the lawn chars out in the yard, and generally enjoying each others company. We did move a bit of furnature around, to try to make more bedside table space. (scanner, clock radio, lamp, and Ipod Dock.) Decided to take out the old "box" fan and replace it with an inexpensive stand fan to put a breeze across the bed.
Because of my sleep schedule, the room is sort of specially prepared. AC to keep it nice and cool, Light Block Curtains (need another to darken it more) and a fan to blow across the bed. This provides a cold, breezy environment that sort of drowns out the day outside.
On another positive note, I got to see Gwen at the meetup and talk a bit. Got to introduce her to Mary and I think they hit it off ok for a first meeting.
On the work note, I have a pretty full schedule the next few weeks, so look for lots of late night updates.
Ciao!
