Auditing class

Well, last week, we had a substitute teacher, as our professor was finishing up an undergraduate class. So this week we finally met him.

His teaching style is unusual. Instead of lecturing, he presumes that you have read the chapter, and we just discuss. And discuss...and discuss. In fact, last night we went until somebody in the class tried to slip out to the ladies room...at which point, he looked at his watch, and realized we had gone till after 8 without a break...and nobody really cared. He doesn't stand behind a podium...he pulls a chair to the middle of the room (we have an odd L shaped room)and leans, sits, puts his foot up. Anything but preach at us. He brings years of field experience in both auditing and consulting, as well as a unique and refreshing teaching style. His rule 1, that we will have fun, seems to be the truth.

To get an idea of the backgrounds we all had to introduce ourselves, and what we did for work, and what our undergraduate degrees are in. Upon hearing my degree, his comment was "why aren't you in consulting". After class he pointed me in the right direction to open doors in that field. So, one again, things expand.

Guess that is enough of an update for now...
