Hmm, a lot has happened.. a lot that I can't say yet because I need to filter out my friends lists. I wish I didn't have to. I really miss certain friends.
Anyway, Thomas won the state-wide western-themed guerrilla film competition for "The Ketchup Kid." He acquired a trophy and... $1,000!!!!!!!!!!!!
Granted, most of it is going toward a better camera for Tom's upcoming films (we are doing a horror movie next!!!) But I get the rest :) (AND also, I am going to sell my canon rebel xti for anyone interested, you'll get a good deal if you ask before I put it on ebay).
I'm probably going to spend it on medication, going to San Diego and Disneyland, and save some for our wedding :)
Speaking of which, We've decided on a Spring Wedding.. probably May 2012? We still are deciding on a location... that's actually pretty difficult because we have little money and Tom doesn't want to get married in Palm Springs for some reason, which just happens to have an affordable little garden setting... which is what I want. That was a really long sentence. Anyways, Expect a wedding post soon!
(and I like making fashion-y photos)
(youtube is NOT working for me right now... so just go to Tom's channel, Dinomy199185)
My job is ... okay, for the most part. Actually, I think i have it pretty lucky. I'm a baker at the local senior citizen community center. Basically, I help make desserts to go out to the seniors that cannot leave where ever they are. Then, we have a little dining area for the seniors that can come, and I set the tables and the salad bar and stuff. I also do all of the decorating and art stuff, AND we have a National Senior Wii bowling team that travel all over and compete. I also do a lot of paper work but I don't mind. At least I don't have to wash a lot dishes or anything. We also get local delinquents to help out and do any dirty work... haha. The only real stress is figuring out what diabetics can and can't have. Like for instance, some people can't have pork or have allergies so the cook and I have to make something else for the few people that can't eat pork or whatever. If we mess up we can get someone sick. But luckily I work with some awesome people, and I like elderly people :p
Previously, I worked with a lady named Carleen, and I had known her to be the sweetest lady I ever met ... but then rumors started spreading and lots of drama ensued... and she appeared to be malicious and the cause of all the drama. She was fired a couple weeks ago, and the new girl is really nice and funny and the tension is fading. It's very bitter-sweet, though.
Today, though... a lot of bad things happened ... we found out that we might all be losing our jobs because the city wants to save money... and basically wants prisoners to make the food for the seniors. Hopefully that won't happen. But even worse, my boss (tom's mother) is being pushed out of her job basically because someone else wants it. And BS about her stealing and ridiculous things. There is a LOT of drama and other things making it really bad. Also, Thomas was totally cheated out on a lot of money because the film competition people kept changing the rules. They gave his second film LAST place ONLY because he won first. That is BS, especially because one of the other teams SHOULD have been disqualified, and they even told us his other film would have been in second place!!! And they want Thomas to work for the local film commission... but for free. He doesn't have time to do that... and his potential boss is spineless. SO, as a result of all this and more, we've decided to move as soon as we can. We aren't sure where to yet, and Tom and I don't know if we are going to move with Tom's mother and sister, or leave asap. If we do leave on our own, it will probably be Washington. But, if we wait a little we might move to central or northern California. This is until we move to the UK, of course.
