You can't take it away

May 11, 2007 17:31

It's not even 6:00 and I have accomplished as much today that I would expect a person to accomplish in a week. I'm not even really that tired. Hrmm.

Grandma and I celebrated mothers day today considering i'll be working and gone all day sunday and by the time I get home i'll be too tired to do much of anything. I got her a bunch of sweet gifts, including a new cell phone. She was way happy and that's what makes me way happy.

I met with Royanne, my advisor, today. Found out I am ONE CLASS away from graduating in December rather than April. Fawk. She and I talked for almost two hours (some business, some not. haha) But ultimately I decided rather than cram that class into the fall term, I should use the money i've already been given for the winter term and fill it out with classes that will help me in grad school. Royanne suggested I take some higher communications courses to sharpen my professional and technical writing skills just in case I decide to do the Denver Publishing Institute summer program or decide to get a job doing editing (instead of what I already do on the side). She also said that I could take one or two courses in my literacy specialization because i'll ace them and strengthen my GPA even more, and get good connections via the professors for those courses.

Overall, I was very happy when I walked out of there this morning. Everything is looking great for graduation and i'm really excited about applying for my fellowship at GVSU. I have a lot of work to do in the next year, so if you guys don't see me a lot or at all just know that i'm working my rear end off and I love you all the same - and I will always have unlimited text messaging! :)

Nessah had her second ultrasound today and I have an updated wallpaper on my phone of the little bean. It's already growing so much, i'm so excited! Nessah found out that she has gestational diabetes but the doctors say that it's not uncommon and that with a good diet plan everything should be fine. The baby is not at a huge risk of having diabetes at birth, and Nessah shouldn't have it after she has the baby either... I guess from what they tell her all that will most likely happen is that the baby will gain a lot of weight and probalbly be 10-12 lbs and have to be removed by c-section. But after the birth the baby shouldn't have any issues other than growing into his/her weight! hehe

I decided in order to save money the only trips i'll be taking this summer will be to Cedar Point in July and of course Wizard World Comic con in Chicago in August. I'll also be staying out of the bars because it supports:

- My weight loss
- My wallet
- My best friends inability to drink and smoke 'cause she's preggers

So it's a win, win, win.

So uh.... you kids have a great summer! I'll be riding my bike, boxing in my garage, reading comic books and patiently waiting for school to start back up.

friends, graduating, life
