After the Pokemon Housoukyoku special Team Rocket: Origin of Love and Youth being out for... ::checks:: 7 1/2 years, I've finally figured out what Musashi whispers at Kojiro when he returns upon being injured. I don't know if anyone else got it; someone probably did down the line, or perhaps the Japanese always knew what she says. The music cuts in, so it's supposed to be covered up, but with some lip reading and some character insight, I think I've got it.
いただく。 Itadaku. "I accept you."
Itadaku has several different connotations, but it conveys a meaning of receiving or accepting something, and is a humble verb form when talking about politeness. It's hard to convey in words, but itadaku has a unique feel of taking something in as one's own while being humbled to have it. Other definitions are "to get", "to receive", "to eat/drink" (as seen in itadakimasu, what you say before you start eating), "to have (as one's leader)", etc. Musashi uses this word all the time to refer to taking Pokemon, in a condescending taunting way, and for other things that she wants to have.
Taken in context, when Kojiro shows up and says that he's not running away, it's a veritable shock to her, something that hasn't yet happened throughout Shinigami Musashi's (Death-God Musashi's) 20-some partner run. And considering what she says right after it, Mendou wo miteranai teammate, something like "A teammate I don't have to look after", she's both humbled and grateful, I think, to have him around.
It melts my heart! Upon meeting, they're stone cold, but they click, and they're just there and amazing. (Can we please see more of this in B/W? They're badass in this special, too!) It's just beautiful.
