chi-town etc + advice, pwease?

I got everything achieved in a reasonable time today! I made all appointments! Hoorah! Got up at 8:30, showered (cold), went to class where I sat next to this asshole that apparently had just worked out and spritzed on some AXE before coming. If it weren't against public decorum, I would have punched him in the head. Anyway... got out, got a tad bit of HW done before I started my Chicago driving adventure.
It only took an hour to get there. Driving in the middle of Chicago is nuts. You have to be aware of everything, from the taxis weaving and stopping, to the pedestrians milling about everywhere. The parking deck was high. We got to the book collection, and it was really cool. There were a lot of cleverly made books. Lots of accordian ones, and ones made of glass (!) and all sorts of things. I left promptly at 3 (thank you, phone alarm!) at got back to school at 3:55. I was freakin' hyped that I got there on time. Auditions went really well. We had guys show up! It was amazing! ^_^ La la, ate dinner, came back here.

Watching American Idol always makes me want to sing. House is on afterwards! Exciting!

Writers! I have a question for you! It's an issue that I've been having for a while... I need some sound advice.
Do you write based on your mood, or can you write whatever your mood is? Do you leave certain stories or certain characters for certain moods?
I'm having issues with this. IE, I've started writing Space Cases fanfiction, and it is quickly turning into angst!fics, the same type of thing I subjected Jessie and James to. This is because I write when I'm upset. So is there a good way to break this habit?

Tomorrow is class, and then I'm participating in the first reading of the spring play, The Landry News. I'd like to try my hand at acting, perhaps. It'll be good to meet the playwright and see what's up. ^_^ Gonna go and... sing, and do other stuff, I guess.

EDIT: I just found out there is a Neptune, Ohio. Road trip! WE MUST VISIT!
