Life in General

Sorry I haven't been online in quite some time.
Been busy working and such.
Went to Wrestlemania XIX in Seatlle. That f*ing rocked!!! My first live wrestling event!!! I used to watch wrestling as a kid at the babysitter's house. She had 2 sons and I was a tomboy so it was fitting. My parents weren't really into wrestling so I never got to watch it at home. Then I grew up and found new things to be intersted in.
Then Jim and I got together and he was always a huge wrestling fan. Started watching wrestling again with sirtalon and kojishi when they would have it on at the house. Then Jim and I started watching Smackdown. In my opinion, wrestling has gotten sooooo much better over the years. Even though its "fake", it looks more real than it did in the past. I love the smack talk, too. Could do without the chick drama but ce la vi!
We sat approximately 100 feet from the stage, on the floor. When the smaller guys like Rey Mysterio came out, it was kind of hard to see them, but when Big Show and the other "giants" came out, seeing them was not hard at all. I definitely want ring side seats next time :-)
Got that nasty cold right before Wrestlemania, that sucked, but still enjoyed the event. Also had fun at the Masquerade the night before.

For the last year, I've been having issues with my sciatic nerve getting pinched (sciatica). For those not familiar with this, you get a pain traveling from your left buttock all the way down to your ankle. Thought that it was because I was a lazy ass since I was unemployed and started gaining a bit too much weight. Started excercising and that didn't help much. Actually lost some weight by changing my diet a bit. Started eating more rice and ground turkey instead of beef. More fruits and veggies. So I guess the opposite of the Atkin's diet. This is working for me and I have less digestive problems, a little more energy AND it seems to have tamed my hypoglycemia down abit. Started getting really really bad charlie horses in the past month. Also noticed that the bump on my tailbone had started to grow a bit in size. Then the other night I was rubbing my lower back and felt this 3/4" hard as bone bump on my tailbone. Thought I was growing a tail or something (heh). Jim felt it and told me to go see a doctor.
Went to Kaiser yesterday and they doctor said that it was a perineural cyst and that they needed to remove it. I guess these kinds of cysts can keep growing and growing if they are not removed. They aren't life threatening or anything, just a pain the arse (as the doctor put it. HAH!) Also found out that my dad had the same thing when he was my age. Thanks dad!!!
So Kaiser is going to call me for a referral visit w/in the next 2 weeks. Then I find out from there more about the surgery and when I will have it.
My mom was telling me horror stories about how my dad was out for 3 weeks and how she had to stuff the hole with gauze and crap. Well, that was in the 70s. I'm with the understanding that this is an outpatient or 1 day stay in the hospital and that it will only take a day or 2 to recoup. My boss said her sister had something similar, went in on a thursday and was back to work on Monday. That will be good.
I have to admit that I am a bit nervous about the surgery since it is surgery and kaiser. I had bad experiences with Kaiser growing up as a kid but others swear that they either never had a problem with them or that they have improved drastically over the years.
But once I get it removed, the sciatica will go away!!! YEAH!!!!!!!!!!! So I can't wait. Just want to get it done and over with.
