I have a job!!!!
Hey all-
Had a phone screen interview with Intel today via SIEMENS business group. Found out that the job would be data entry/investigative work and that I'll be working with a lady I used to go to lunch with when I was working at Intel before. I am sooooo stoked!! YEAH!! Unemployment no more. The SIEMENS rep called me back with a solid offer. Took my UA today and filled out a butt-load of paperwork. All done!!! YEAH!!
So I start on Wednesday, October 23, exactly 7 months on unemployment, to the day. Its a year contract. If the economy picks up and I do a really good job, maybe they can increase head count and get me blue badge, we'll see. I am NOT getting my hopes up though.
The job sounds really fun and something I would like to do. Not technical support, not really that technical, but fun!!
I'll also be back at the old site and literally 1 cube row down from where I sat when I was working for the other Intel group doing the purchasing until they moved me into the lab. I'll get to see the guys from the lab. I'll be right outside the lab as a matter of fact!! Totally kick ass.
The pay is less than I was making before, but only $2 less an hour, so not too bad and its more than unemployment so all is good.
I can't wait to start. Working monday through friday 8am-5pm, which I like.
Well, I'm going to go eat dinner and reward myself with a nice game of Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance on the PS2.
