Wow, it's... been a long time.

I should go and count how many entries start with some sort of reference to how long it's been since my last entry.

*pokes* That reminds me that we haven't talked in a while. We should talk more!

Anyway. Most of my very good friends here at MIT I either met during Orientation or in my living group. (Or, in the case of at least one, both.) Usually I just find the people I like the most in the large groups of people I interact with - classes or student groups or whatever. The things is, even with the ones who I interact with - the ones I live with, even - I try and make an effort to talk to one-on-one or go get coffee with or something. Not lots, because I don't have that much free time, but if we have lunch free or have an hour or two in the afternoon to meet up and talk, I try and do that. I've definitely lost track of some friends, both from home and from MIT, just because I haven't put in the effort to stay friends. Some of them are good enough friends that we can pick up wherever we left off, no matter how long it's been since we've talked. With others, the friendship has pretty much fizzled out, which I guess means we weren't great friends - but then again, if we had kept in contact more than a week or so, could we have been? *shrug* I'm pretty happy with my friends right now, both the very good friends and the larger circle of friends.
