The Hunt

The freshmen registered this morning. I was hoping they wouldn't need me for anything, but alas I was called upon to, essentially, stand there while they figured out the problem on their own... later I also helped another one choose classes to go from 13 to 19 credits. Not a wasted morning, though I would have preferred to sleep in... especially as tonight kicks off the 24-hour play festival. Wheeeeeee~

Today was also the job fair. I found out beforehand that the bookstore is not hiring for this semester, so I went in with a very open mind. Trawling around I found five possibilities. One I disqualified shortly after because my schedule would change each week and I just don't want to deal with that. A variable schedule was fine in the summer when I had nothing else to do, but I've got lots of stuff to do here at college, and trying to reschedule things every week would just be a pain. So down to four. Another got shunted off when I found out it doesn't give work study; since I've got it, I might as well take advantage of it. A third requires handing in a paper application, which I'll probably do on Monday, and the other two require waiting at this point.

I do have a clear preference among them, but I'm not going to say anything until I know one way or another.

Now I'm off to nap before the festival. Sleep is good.
