Do you know what day it is? It's July 3, 2008! In The Heights is happening right now!
...Anyway. I woke up today at seven. And I got lots of sleep. It boggles the mind.
See, after posting my last entry last night (scroll down a bit--yeah, there you go!) I went to go read. I was starting The Armageddon Inheritance because I finished Mutineer's Moon a few hours earlier. (I was reading that trilogy at all because I felt like it, okay? They're pretty awesome books.) While I was reading, though, I started to feel... really tired. Enough so that I thought to myself, Why does it feel like I'm falling asleep? This is a good book! I want to read this! But alas, it was not to be. On page 22 (I didn't get far at all!) I just kind of dropped the book and drifted off into sleep, the sounds of Spring Awakening playing from my computer, but possibly not because if a computer plays music but nobody's there to hear it, does it make a--anyway. The point is that I fell asleep while reading, and it was around 10:30.
I was still fully dressed, of course, which means I was not really comfortable, and I noticed that when I woke up around 1:40 a.m. I didn't wake up all the way, but I woke up enough to get up and turn my computer off and to get out of fun things like dress clothes. And then I went back to bed, and was asleep again a little after 2:00. So let's call it half an hour I was awake there, in the middle.
And then I dreamed. I dreamed various things, as I tend to do, including trying to eat a bagle only to find that the toaster oven had been replaced by... a different toaster oven... that one was a little odd. "We have two toaster ovens! And someone switches them! ...Why?" But it was interrupted by the mini-nightmare about the spider because there was suddenly a spider in the kitchen and is there anything scarier than being unable to escape a spider I DON'T THINK SO. And when the spider touched me, I woke up. (Not. Fun.) It was 7:00, according to my clock, so it was really 7:05.
I thought to myself, I shouldn't be up for another few hours. I'm going back to sleep. But it was not to be so! After the longest ten minutes I have experienced in a long time, my alarm went off. (Can I state for the record that when I'm already awake, that alarm is the most annoying thing ever?) I had to grab for my cell phone, struggle to get it open, and turn off the alarm, and it was not easy in my I-want-to-fall-asleep state, and I had to wonder how on earth I manage to do it without waking up other days. I guess I'm just awesome that way.
There, I thought, now I can sleep. But no, because it was Thursday. And Thursdays are special because Thursdays get a second alarm, five minutes after the first one. I don't remember why originally, but it was pretty useful all those Thursdays I had trouble waking up during the school year, so I never got rid of it. So after five more minutes of trying to fall back asleep, the alarm went off again. And I turned it off. And I gave up. And got up. And that's my story.
...Why, yes, I am writing this just to kill an unexpected extra bunch of hours, however did you guess?
sleep,
miscellanea,
dreams
