☆ WELCOME ☆

[ welcome, welcome -- had a nice time where you were? Yes, no, it doesn't matter either way, because you're not there any more. One blink (or if you were sleeping or dead, you'll simply find yourself standing up and awake, nice, isn't it?) and you're standing in the lobby of a luxurious mansion with a small booklet in your hand and no idea where you are. Open it up, and this is what the first page says in a sprawling but neat handwriting: ]

Hi there. Nice to meet you, and welcome to the House.

We've been waiting for you.

Now, you probably want to know why you're here. That's easy. It's because we wanted to play a game. With you! Sounds fun, right? ♥

And how do you play? That's easy, here are the rules:

★ It's called Mafia! Some of you might know the rules already, but keep reading, since we're playing a bit of a different version. Variety is the spice of life, after all. Or something like that. Go to page 24 for more detailed instructions.

★ You can't leave us. We brought you here to play, you can't just go away. Please don't try! You'll only waste your own valuable playing time.

★ In our game there are traitors among all of you! Yes, all of you -- look around, there are a lot of people, right? And more on the way. Well, some of them are bloody killers.

★ That's the catch that makes this fun is: they don't know that they're traitors! You might be one, who knows? You don't!

★ To win the game, you need to kill them. And how do you do that? By voting, of course. Every time there's a poll, just write down the name of who you think is a traitor in this little book, and we'll count your vote.

To make the game even more hectic for you, we've also added roles such as doctors and detectives. If you're chosen as a doctor, you have the ability to keep a player from dying. So don't forget to write down who you want to save and who you think the traitor is.

If you're a detective, you can do the same thing as the doctors except instead of saving a fellow player, you have the right to find out if someone you've written down is a traitor, doctor or another detective. But if you find out a traitor is a traitor, how will you get everyone to believe you?

And don't worry if you lose the book -- another will appear next to you each morning!

★ How are these votes counted? Well, we take the majority vote, and we'll -- clean up that lucky person. Except the traitors' votes. The people the traitors choose automatically get -- taken care of. We do a good job, don't worry!

★ And this keeps going until the traitors are voted out or everyone else is dead!

Now, you might want to run along and get to know all your housemates. Especially their names and faces. After all, you wouldn't want to write down someone's name without knowing who they are -- especially if you're the traitor, right? People will be popping up all week, but don't worry, they're all playing the game, too! It's more fun with lots of people, isn't it?

Oh, and one more thing: besides the game, we don't interfere. That's part of the play, you know. And we don't mind at all if you do some cleaning-up yourself -- just be prepared for any consequences that come of it. And anything you had on you, we didn't take away. Feel free to use whatever tools you had.

Understood all of that?

Good!

And if not, feel free to ask us anything you wish. No need for help desks or anything like that -- just ask a question out loud and address it to us, and we will hear. We are the House, you see. We're all around.

Welcome.

(Or welcome back.)

Let the games begin.
