Todd Klinck was just 21 when he not only completed a novel in 3 days, but was also declared the winner of the prestigious 3-Day Novel Contest. Tacones feels as disturbingly fresh as it did ten years ago and it seemed a fitting time to reissue this scurrilous little novel, warts and all.
The new edition from Anvil Press features a foreword written by Mitchel Raphael (former editor-in-chief of fab Magazine and the current Capital Diary columnist for Maclean’s) and an introduction by Professor James Miller (founding director of the Pride Library at the University of Western Ontario) and an afterword by Todd Klinck.
About the performers:
Todd Klinck is a writer, porn producer, film artist television star and owner of the queer scene’s pansexual playground, Goodhandy’s. His writing has appeared in The National Post, Saturday Night and several international fiction compilations. He wrote the column Trade for fab for over 3 years. His porn company Mayhem North specializes in unstaged reality porn shot at Goodhandy's and other live club events. Nominated for a Genie award for best adapted screenplay (Sugar) as co-writer with John Palmer, he also appeared in season 2 of the television show Kink. Goodhandy’s opened in May 2006.
Tacones existed as a gay latin drag club for a short 6 months in 1995. Three of the leading performers from that era, Rocio Pantoja, Carolina Fabrega, and Andrea Allejandra who also performed at the original Tacones book launch, will be performing classic Spanish and Brazilian numbers.
Crackpuppy are used to blowing out your ears. Now they're going to fucking serenade you and break your goddamn heart with their acoustic fucking ballads. Bring your fucked up incense and candles.
Helene Ducharme has never shied away from expressing herself with her soprano voice. Always ready to experience new things, she has evolved into an exciting performer travelling between the usual and the sublime.
