They say you can't always get what you want...
First grad school disappointment tonight. Remember those grants I had to apply to back in September? Well the first one, federal SSHRC, just came back negative. I didn't even pass the department level. They sent around half of the received applications, and I wasn't among them. I feel sad. Was it so bad? I mean, a ton of people believe in me (and they're not all my friends and my family), and still I couldn't get something as simple as SSHRC. Problem is, my grad school letter of intent is based on my SSHRC application. I hope this doesn't forebode anything bad...
There's still one chance at financial help, and that is the FQRSC. I am crossing my fingers, but right now I kinda doubt it. If I don't get it, I'll have to stick to Montreal, because it's the cheapest, and the only thing I'll be able to afford.
