Put down the shoah, step away from the Third Reich

Founder of Twitter and therefore fabulously rich guy Tom Perkins does not have the knowledge and the human capital to avoid the wrong metaphor. There are many flavors of public madness. Fascism is one of them. Ethnic cleansing is one of them. The "Occupy" movement is neither of these. He is only demonstrating one of their arguments: At least one corporate bigwig is actually pretty stupid about some important lessons of history that should be more widely understood; and purposely insulating himself from knowledge of the public that supports him. He's 82 years old and so one would think he had more primary experience about the matter, seeing as it was a big feature of life during his youth.
The metaphors of Nazi Germany and the Final Solution are ridiculously overused these days and they turn off my ears as soon as I hear them. If they are to retain meaning for us they should be used appropriately.
