Ignore away. Where is this show you speak of?

I don't know if it goes to the DNA level. It certainly does impact her brain chemistry. Hmmm? Well, I suppose to some degree DNA can be involved. In psychology we talk about disorders being the result of stress-diathesis: a person is born with innate strengths and weaknesses and when his/her environment taxes her/his system beyond its innate ability, s/he experience a stress...and a disorder may appear. This underlies why people with Schizophrenia are often not diagnosed until late teens, early 20's. The stress of that MAJOR developmental change (going ot college, starting a trade, starting a family) taxes the body, the system is ill-equipped to address the strain = delusions and hallucinations. The family's relationship style before the disorder and post disorder is a GREAT predictor for how well the person will cope with Schizophrenia. So, another environmental factor will influence the person's thoughts and actions. It is all very fascinating...how the mind and body interact with the world. Fascinating.
