ok so it's been quiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiite a while since i last posted in my live journal but i feel like now is as good a time as any. so this past weekend absolutely rocked my socks off. I went to two concerts and drove for a zillion hours but it was soo worth it.
saturday: morning, heather rae picks me up and we drive about an hour or so to Warwick, RI to see her friend and business partner Holly so they can try to get things accomplished, that fails miserably and instead we just end up eating breakfast at Dennys and listening to TKO 2.0 ... MFC feat GavCaz, it's amazing. but yea so after that we went to Walmart to get pictures off of her digital camera etc and she decided to do the one hour option so we watched part of H2promotions promotional DVD while we waited. when she went to pic up her photos the guy behind the counter handed her the thing with her CD in it and apparently assumed she was going to pay up front... foolish salesman, if you don't charge somebody there they probably won't pay and that's just what she did, she didn't want to pay for two CDs so we just walked out of Walmart and headed to the Grange. Once at the Grange we met up with Holly again and Ben from Standing Down and we hung out for a while, listened to tunes and then at 4:15 it was time to head out, we had to get our asses to Danbury, CT by 7ish. So off we went, once we got close we called the all mighty Colin Brennan and asked him where the nearest Taco Bell was because we had promised the drummer that we would bring him a chipolte burrito with chicken and sp we did. when we finally got there we told the ticket guy that we were supposed to be on the guest list for Southcott and he was like wait are your from like NH or MA or something and we were like YES! so told us to go right in and get wrist bands. we went in and couldn't find john, the drummer so we asked everybody else in the band where he was and told them we had taco bell for him, so they were like ooooo you're thooooose two hold on we'll see if we can find him... but they couldn't, when he finally showed up again he had bought himself a chipolte with chicken and when i asked him why he said because he didn't think i was going to show up :o( so i said I told you i was going to be here!! you need to learn that if I say i'm going to be somewhere i'll be there, so now when i tell you that I'm going to be at your show in NH i mean it. so we had fun and I got a free pin from Mike S (guitar and vox) and it was fun even tho we got dirty looks from people when we were talkin to john because apparently we were hogging him tho we told him to go talk to others he didn't want to. during their set southcott dedicated their new song "lifeboats for high hopes" to heather rae and I for driving so far to see them haha. after southcott went on the skeptics, an awesome and goodlookin band from western, MA took the stage and absolutely blew us away. they had a pretty sweet stage presence, almost on par with monty ;o). after both sets were done we went over and talked to rob and tony of the skeptics and showed each of them a few of the amazing pics we had of them haha... oh yea and we got some amazing pictures and you can look at them by clicking this link
http://community.webshots.com/user/trackstar817 (there are also pics of the specs and skeptics) at about 10pm we finally left Danbury to start the long drive home, and so did Southcott only they were heading back to NY so it was a little closer for them. we get back, look at a few pics and pass out.
sunday: we go to brother's for a late breakfast and then head up to Manchester area NH to go to her work so she can get more promo shit done and get in touch with one of the bands so she can get them a CD with all the photos on it. when we check southcott's myspace (yes i'm addicted) to see what time the show is their page says 8pm, but john had mentioned something about 4pm when i had last talked to him so we decided to check the other bands pages an proceeded to get three different times for the same concert ranging from 2pm to 5:45pm to 4:30pm. so after much debate we decided it was best to head over there and be early instead of risking missing their set. so off we went down 101W to the Monadnock Country Club in Petersborough. when we got there it was all snowy and slippery and it took as a little while to find a spot. we went in and paid the $8 (we got ripped off because inflation is a dirty pirate whore, haha) and told the guy at the door that we were there to see southcott and was wondering where they were, he proceeded to tell us that they were lost and that it was near impossible to give them directions but that they were within in a 10 mile radius. so we decided to wait outside the actually concert hall until they showed up. when the did we of course mocked them for getting lost and then asked when they were going on. we talked to them for a bit before their set, took massive amounts of pics during their set, i got another free pin by being the first person to name all three animaniacs hahahaha yea i'm a big dork. then after their set we talked a little more and managed to get them all together to take pics with them. and i gave in and bought one of their shirts and had them all sign it. they were so cool about the whole thing and didn't mind us stealing them away from their horrible habit (they all smoke). but then we had to head out because heather rae and i were beat. we were supposed to have met up with Zanca from Permanent Holiday to give him the CD with photos from their friday night show but he never showed up in Londonderry like he was supposed to so i dropped heather rae off at her house and headed home to MA.
and yea that is all haha long post mostly just random stuff... oh yea since it's the end i'm gonna put links to all these bands:
