Misread my day planner the other day; though the 10th was mother's day. Turns out its Mexico's mother's day (US mommy day is on the 14th). So thinking I had little time or opportunity to buy my mom a gift I decided to pick something up while going to the mall for pants yesterday. There was a chocolate shop I passed while walking around and it made me remember these hazelnut chocolate things my mom always seemed to have at the house in California while I was growing up. I hated them, but Mom always brought them home so I assumed they were her favorite. So I bought a box, and some other chocolates. I gave them to her when I picked her up from work. When I told her how I remembered the chocolates she laughed at me and said, "I never really liked those, they were gifts from coworkers. Mercy liked them so I brought them home. AND these [pointing to the box] arent them. I always brought home the ones in the pink wrapper. Mother's day isnt until the 14th." Oh well I say, I tried.
On another note, I found no pants.
AND ON A BETTER ANOTHER NOTE: The chocolates I got while at the Chocolatier, are sooooooo damn good. Its amazing. Chocolate covered honeycombs. OH MY GOD! I suggest everyone try them!
Warning: if pregnant or breast feeding, do not try chocolate honeycombs. Since the candy was made with honey, and honey is not recommended to women breastfeeding or pregnant. Also not recommended to children under the age of 2.
