well, since i've last written, a fair amount of things have taken place, to say the least. from the ending of school to the beginning of summer, i've had quite a bit of things to keep me busy with. however, now that the excitement has died down some, i think it's time that i finally write some of these things down ( Read more... )

i don't know if i congratulated you or not before you graduated, so i'll congratulate you now. your speech beats all of the ones the three or four people did when i went to my friends graduation in may. and yours was just to welcome everyone. graduation wasn't a big deal for me. i didn't do anything worth while during high school except being on the track team my freshman and some of my senior year. other than that, i never really went. i guess if i had put forth more effort in junior high and in the beginning of high school and took more difficult and useful classes, i'd probably would have enjoyed my high school years more. i'm jealous that your school had architecture. :( were you able to get any kind of scholarship to georgia tech? i'm sure you did exceptionally well on your ap exams. i'm happy you were able to get this entry in before i leave tomorrow. even though you've only written a couple of entries, they do more justice than the short ones other people write. i feel like i know you better than most of the friends i've made throughout my year(s) on livejournal. :) if i don't get to comment more with you before tomorrow, i wish you the best in luck with college and everything else that comes along with it. you'll do better than "just fine". when i come back, i expect lots of entries (haha) or long ones like these about how college/real world life/etc have been treating you. and if you move journals, you better comment me and tell me. :)

i guess when you're as motivated as i am, working hard in high school becomes pretty easy. life where i am is pretty bad, so since i've been little, i've always looked at college as a way to get away from it all. it's the only way i can get out of the type of life i'm in and move on to something better.

it was actually the first year we had architecture, so we didn't do too much. it was more of a drafting class than anything else (the class's official title was actually architectural drafting and design), so most of our work just consisted of making floorplans on the computer, anyway. heh, most of the time we probably weren't even doing that, though. we tended to play a lot of games during that class..

i actually did get one scholarship, i can't believe i forgot to mention that. i forgot the entire honor's day, as a matter of fact.. it wasn't anything major really, it was a little scholarship from the parent of a former student for a thousand dollars. i didn't even get to spend any of it for myself. i used most of for college acceptance fees, and i'm saving the rest to get any shots i might need. i'll need to get some more scholarships if my loan plans don't work out..

yeah, i'm glad i could get this entry done before you had to leave. i feel bad that i couldn't comment earlier, though. i hardly get online anymore, so i really didn't get a chance. hope you do great at your training thingy! i'll try to update if anything happens : ).
