Yay for John D. Lokes Jr.!!!
Anyway, it's been a pretty eventful weekend. I'll start with Friday:
Friday:
At like 12:30, Laura left to retutn to the Mother Land for a few days, and I settled in for a long and lonley weekend. Then Ellie called, and I remembered I promised to do something with her, which was good. So we decided on the good ole dinner and a movie. Natually, we chose Panera. So we headed off to Panera (where they were being kind of Nazi about calling names) and caught up. Then we headed off to the John D. Lokes Jr. Celebration Cinema Grand Rapids so see Wimbeldon (I know! I said I wouldn't see it!). It was very....interesting. Basically we cracked up through the whole thing, but not really because they were trying to be funny. It was just more of less lame. But remember, the ball boy represents Jesus.
Then after the movie, we went back to Ellie's apartment and watched Love Actually. Unfortunatly, due to a certain member of the male species that was present, we were forced to discern the movie and learn how to think with our minds and not our emotions. Blah!
Saturday:
At a little after noon, John arrived on campus and we headed off to Arby's for some good (but slow) food. It was so great catch up and just talk about band....sigh. Next we made the trip over to Kenowa Hills High School just in time to find Jim Schultz and grab a crappy seat and watch LHS. It was hard to see from where I was, but they looked good to me. After that I had a great conversation with Mr. Huff and how he liked my purse (hehe).
Next we went and found the band and hung out with them for a while. I got to see a lot of people including: Tony, Dan and Mr. Fechner, Chris(my brother), Chris Grapis and others. After that John and I went back and watched a few more bands and the awards ceremony. LHS didn't do so hot, but these are the kind of competitions we use as a trial run. Plus they haven't finished scene III yet and the opener needs some serious work.
After that, John and I headed back to GR and went to Olive Garden. Good times. Then I decided John needed to see Napolean Dynamite since he haden't seen it yet so we headed back to Calvin to look up the show tims online. While we were there, Ellie called and decided to come over and Geoff showed up so all four of us went to the movie. It was just as good the second time and John loved it. I'm not so sure about Ellie ;) Also, after both Wimbeldon and Napolean, they were giving out free 20 oz bottles of Pepsi Edge, so now I have two of those too. Crazy!
After that John left and Ellie, Geoff and I went back to my room for some I love the 90s action.
That was about it for my weekend. Great times, great people. yeah. Hope you all hade fantastic weekends too.
Happy Ending.
