life's funny that way...
trust is a fragile thing, ya know... once it's lost, it's very difficult to regain... and you can always forgive but you'll never forget... when you've lost trust in someone, and you've lost faith in someone, things can never be the same... you can try to mend your fences, and you can try to pretend everything's okay... but in all reality it's different... you don't laugh the way you had before... you don't smile as readily... once trust is lost, you put your guard up... and apologies only get you so far... yes, they are a first step to a new friendship, and a new time... apologies can be a fresh start... but things change, people change... and there's nothing you can do about it... you've got to remember the good times and move on... and you can't erase what's happened, and you can't turn back time... there's a reason things happened the way they did... and this is not to say you can't forgive others for what has been done... but it'll never be the same... and sometimes you don't even want it to be the same... sometimes you move on with your life and find someone and are happy, and you don't want to go back... and you continue to move on with your new life, your new love, your new happiness... and you are happy in the long run... there is no 'what if' or 'if only'... because you know you are happy now, and you don't care about what might have been... you are living in the present... and you are happy... life's funny that way.........
