I loved marble madness, though I was more into Spindizzy as I recall.

I tried my C64 when i was at my folks' for xmas, and i realized that my 1531 drive was dead :( So, no Spy vs Spy for me. I just typed in this little basic proggy:

10 print "this sucks ass"
20 goto 10

...and turned it off, never (probably) to be turned on again. I may have sobbed, a little.

I got a c64 emulator tho, but it's just not the same, well, the games load faster (remember that Fast Load cartdrige? hehe). I also play with the Atari 2600 emulator sometimes, but usually i just pull out the real deal from my closet... unless i wanna play a game that i dont have the actual cart for, etc... I also have a NES and a Coleco (!!) emulator.... but i dont play with any of those these days since my old Gravis wont work on this PC... bah!

(that was a long one wasnt it? heh)

I've got a c64 emulator as well, but I don't know how to get those crazy ass keys that the keyboards used to have to work on the emulator.

Here's to video games where you can stick a hamster in a microwave and use the remains!

Too bad they took it out of most of the NES carts.

These modern hooker-slapping games ain't got nothin' on MM.

I didn't even know they took the hamster thing out of the NES carts until about yesterday. God I'm stoked that I found scummVM and a copy of Zak!

for me it goes back to King's Quest, and other flavours of games in that brand -- Hero's Quest, Police Quest, Leisure Suit Larry, etc.

but the first game to keep me up until midnight every day of the weekend, for weeks in a row was Ultima 5. Gawd, I loved that game.

Then I bought my first intel computer and bought Ultima 7. That blew 5 away. The soundtrack and story line were haunting. I haven't played a game since then that captivated me so much.

Yeah, I had Ultima IV I think. I remember printing out a map for the thing on my dot matrix printer and it stayed on my bedroom wall for years! The sucker was huge... like 5 pages across by 8 pages down!

you so got a good couple of points in my books for admitting that! :)

I wrote to "Lord British" when I solved the game and got a certificate in the mail. *geeky snort and chuckle* *adjusts glasses*
