The Widow's Son in the Windshield
I know this is like....a week late, but I wanted to do a post detailing everything that I loved about the Season 3 premier of Bones. I will post it as a cut in case there's anyone who hasn't seen it and doesn't want to be spoiled.
Can I just say that I love watching Dr. Temperance Brennan in all her reserved BRILLIANCE! Overall the story arc with the silver skeleton is GENIUS! I LOVE IT! T.J. Thyne's new look is GLORIOUS! I really liked the private detective that's gonna find Angela's "husband." I'm SO happy that the opening wasn't changed! I LOVE the Bones opening! Carolyn is one of my fav Bones side characters I was ecstatic to see her in the premier. I actually liked the character of Charlie from last seasons finale, I thought he had great chemistry with Booth, so I was really pleased to see him again on the show. I hope he sticks around. I thought Brennan finding every excuse to get out of going out into the field with Booth was HILARIOUS and Booth in turn trying to get Cam to just hire Clark as Brennan's new assistant to get her out of the lab was equally as funny! Angela's commentary while Booth was interrogating the girlfriend "Squeeze and Squish" was TOO FUNNY! I really liked the scene with Brennan and Hodgins. I've always liked their dynamic. Booth and Carolyn interrogating the CIA director and his kinky wife was GREAT. Carolyn is SO funny! The scene where Booth and Brennan are waiting for the bank vault to open gives such great insight into how desperate Booth is for everything to be right with Brennan again. Booth diving on top of Brennan to shield her from the "transmitter" was PRICELESS! I was so enthralled with the discovery of the silver skeleton! This story arc is AMAZING! ZACH! I was SO happy to see Zach return! YAY! "So, our cannibal has a diamond tooth?" Booth's reaction to Brennan wanting to go interrogate the suspect..... absolutely swoon-worthy. The actor that portrayed Jason was very effective. When he was talking about how "babies taste kind of like fish" I literally had a chill! Creepy Kid! Hodgins' reaction to Angela's "husband" was SO funny! My favorite scene in this episode is when Booth and Brennan are waiting in the jail to talk to Jason again and Booth confronts Brennan about how she feels about him not discouraging Zach from going to Iraq. Emily Deschanel does a superb job conveying how vulnerable Brennan has been feeling since Zach left (not that that's all there is to it), she's standing there against the wall with this unguarded look on her face and Booth is just staring at her. I LOVE THIS SCENE! There's so much subtlety in this scene, it's just......AMAZING! Jason was sacrificially murdered or committed suicide inside his cell, WHOA! The end scene with Booth and Brennan was great! The whole interaction where she "kissed" his hand when he gave her the hot coffee was very cute and I loved how Booth teased her about it.
