Everything is Twilight, unless otherwise stated.
One shots:
Scars are Souvenirs You Never Lose - beautiful, but heartbreaking. Sometimes you read things that make you so upset for the characters, but this went beyond that. It affected my mood, made me genuinely sad, and it took me a little while to pick myself back up again.
Unplanned - another heartbreaker, and features a bit of DaddyWard, but not the one I'm used to.
In The Arms Of An Angel - I'm not completely sure how I feel about this one. It made me cry without being depressing, but the 'controversial' thing for me is that it uses an awful cliché, but turns it on its head. I can't say what without spoiling it. It was intelligently done, but at the same time the cliché was still there.
Draco Malfoy, It's Your Lucky Day - obviously this is HP fic, not Twilight. I haven't been able to get into anything HP for a while, but this one worked for me. Yes, it's slash, but unlike a lot of slash out there it has a really decent plot. It's canon but EWE, and I just really enjoyed it. It's long for a one-shot, but I agree with the author that it doesn't suit being chaptered.
Chaptered:
Retrograde - this has it all. It's heartbreaking, yet heart-warming. It's serious and funny. It has Jacob in it, and he's not all that likeable, but he's not completely bad. And I love the Emmett in this.
We Used to Be a Love Story - I love the style of this. It isn't chronological. It is painful. It has one chapter which is potentially very triggering. It's wonderfully written, and worth a chance. Read a few chapters (they're short) before making your mind up.
Work in progress:
Born to be Mine - I've just realised this has three chapters up now, and i've only read the first one. Oops! This is why i don't usually read WIPs, i'm awful. Anyway, the things I liked about the first chapter were that Jacob is not the bad guy. He's just the other guy. The dead guy. Bella was married to him, and they had a child, but then Jake died and Bella has to get herself out of her sadness. ...okay I'll admit I can't remember much more about it because I've read a lot since then, but it definitely captured my attention. I'll catch up with reading that tonight.
This is the Story of a Girl - Rosalie is dying from cancer. The author doesn't beat around the bush with this, we have been told that Rosalie will die and there won't be a miraculous ending. This story is her diary of her last 6-12 months. I love how it's written. It comes across as so real. Rosalie is a teenage girl with a horrific disease, and often with situations like this people forget that she is still a teenage girl. This author hasn't forgotten. I completely recommend this one.
