I went to my dermatologist yesterday. She prescribed some kinda scalp steroid cream for use for the next two weeks…and then…she wants me to use Rogaine.

Yes I know it is just a product. I’m learning more (and more and more and…) that menopause ain’t pretty, or for the weak! I’m positive that there are some perfectly lovely and classy ladies who use this product, it’s just not something you talk about. But…yikes…embarrassing, right? I do not want to be a balding female! This is *so* not a pretty problem.

I wish I had many thousands of dollars and could get a transplant like that Brendan guy on #richkidsofbeverlyhills. he was 26. But he was a
GUY.

She also told me to stop putting my hair in a tight pony every day (I got so used to that, like, the second I get home, up goes my hair) and for the last few months I’ve been doing my hair up in either a clip or a headband, kind of to make the spaces look like they were created by the style instead of cuz my hair is sparse. It’s a little better when I part it on the side but I need to stop being in denial b/c I do not want to be an almost-bald older lady.

So although Rogaine is $40 for a three-month supply, I am buying the $25 one-month supply of Toppik minoxidil from Sephora. b/c…glam! And you get points towards things, and you get samples. And it is October so it’s my birthday month and I get a free gift that I can redeem with an online purchase. So, you know, Brightside…or something.
