Hate Atlanta? I have a solution. o_buggsbyMay 15 2013, 15:40:10 UTC
I don't favor the idea of moving to Atlanta, but love all my friends there too. Solution? You should move to East TN. Then you are an easy drive from Atlanta friends, and will live in the same town as all of us cool cats! :o) Problem solved. We can always found Draxylvania in East TN somewhere rather than in CO. :o)

HAHAHAHA! I'll mention that to Ian. I've also tried to talk him into Raleigh-Durham or someplace in the SE with video game companies. There is only one here in Denver, so he can't pursue his chosen career here... but so far, no dice!

You just have to get him to a few Dust to Dust games. After he hangs out with us a time or two he will remember how awesome we all are! ;o)
Also... I think there are some job openings in the NC area for game companies right now. I know my Brother in-law applied out there (Alas Hulu, in Seattle, had too good of an offer so they stayed on the West coast). Not that you are thinking of moving anytime soon... I'm just sayin'. ;o)

I looked up flight schedules to Dust to Dust for Ian yesterday. He's short on vacation time at work, so that complicates matters. I can get him on a 5:00 Mountain Time flight which would mean not having to take any real time off from work. It'd also mean landing around 10:30, renting a car by himself, and getting on-site around 1:00 in the morning. Ian's not sure if he's that dedicated to this experiment. I'm still working on him, though!

I also support Raleigh-Durham, for obvious reasons. +100000 for coming out to Dust to Dust!! B is working in games still, and Epic and Red Storm often hire. I _think_ Irrational may still have an office out here as well. It all depends on what he's doing, skill-wise.

Ian is trained & experienced as an Environment Artist. If he went back into games, I think he's said he'd like to develop a Level Design portfolio, however.
We've heard so much good about DTD! I can't make the June event, but I'd love to send Ian out there as the advance scout.

Also, more people in the Triangle would be all to the bonus.
And yes! Send us some Ian! We would be delighted. ^^
