Last night after class, I was walking to the parking lot at the same time as one of my fellow students. This woman is somewhere in the range of age 25 to maybe her upper thirties. She is really made up - every week a fresh hair dye, lots of makeup, fake nails. She's mentioned she has "children," plural, but it's still hard for me to guess her age

I wonder if she's ever actually talked to anyone who raped or murdered someone...

I doubt the experience would broaden her horizons in any way. I expect it would probably just confirm her already seemingly narrow outlook.

I wonder if talking to someone who was acquitted at trial of murder or rape (or better yet, released post-conviction because of a bad conviction) about what it's like to be arrested and assumed guilty despite one's innocence.

This is funny, because a friend recently posted on Facebook that he had been called for jury duty, but wanted out because he refuses to find anyone guilty of anything for any reason. Something about the corrupt justice system.

Using D&D Alignment terms, I am Lawful Neutral by nature... so, duh, of course I think the best way to change any system is from inside it. How can someone complain out of one side of his mouth that our justice system is corrupt, and yet corrupt it with the other side by suggesting that he refuses to participate in granting someone a fair trial as an unbiased juror??

Chaotic alignment is for the birds! :P
