Did anyone open a new account at e*Trade Bank and use me as a reference?
I got a $10 referral bonus from someone doing so... but I recall recommending the bank only to one person, and she hasn't acted on that yet. So I'm stumped. Was it you?
Well, for what it's worth, I like this online bank. Fully FDIC insured. 3.3% interest on a straight-up savings account. I've found that (free) electronic transfers with my brick-and-mortar bank take about 4 days, usually. Their online and telephone customer service is excellent - responsive, human (not scripted all the time), and in the United States. The bank side is just a normal online bank, don't get confused with their brokerage side -- this is just a regular ole savings account.
