Who does the voiceover in your head sound like?

Nov 16, 2008 21:10

When you read to yourself, what does the voice in your head sound like? If you "hear" in your mind different voices, whose voices are they? Are they male or female? Are they well known actors? Is the voiceover in a particular style?

Ian apparently has black men in his head: James Earl Jones and Morgan Freeman. (Class choices, really!)

I immediately found interesting that the voices in my head are female -- interesting note about gender there. I don't think I can identify a specific voice, but they speak in a calm, diary type style, like the narrator for an International Blends Coffee commercial, talking about "I'll never forget that weekend in Vienna...." If I had a man's voice in my head, I think it would be equally calm, like maybe Tim Robbins or John Cusack... or, no shock here, it'd be Jack Black if I were feeling snarky, or the guy who does the voice for Emperor Kuzco (doesn't really matter what the actor's name is since it's Emperor Kuzco, not the actor talking in my head).

P.S. This post brought to you by the calm International Blends Coffee voice in my head gently reading the lightly philosophical stylings of tashewolf's journal tonight (haha! They're locked! You can't see them! You can't see them! Nyah nyah nyah nyah nyah!)... while the foreground of my office echoes with the sounds of machine gun fire, screams, and the hungry ravings of ghouls from Ian playing Left 4 Dead.
