Now I know what jatrina meant when she said that the dramatic irony in some of Lovecraft's stories gets a bit much. "The Whisperer In Darkness" has been entertaining until now, but now I want to shout, "BITCH, DON'T GO IN THE BASEMENT!" I mean seriously, here's the deal ( Read more... )

The scholar is obviously an NPC, most likely one of the grolk. The grolk totally would have fallen for that.

Yeah, stuff like this really hurts my head whenver I see it in any form, book, movie, larp, whatever.

Although Dude didn't say anything about how they were fatting him up or a handy manual was lying around that was going to help Seve his fellow man, so maybe it's not really the aliens suckering Scholar in.

For all I know, Scholar gets another postcard just before he gets on the road to Vermont. I haven't picked the book back up since this entry (a matter of being busy, not reticent). I'll let you know if it's possible for the situation to get even worse.

There were some manuscripts found after old HP died that hadn't been published. Maybe this is one of those "post mortem edits"...*)

I had honestly believed until I started following this that I had read all the Lovecraft to be found...I stand corrected, because I've never heard of this one.
