Day 4 of Early Morning Cardio Death Camp, and Boy, Are My Arms Tired!
No, really! I awoke with the alarm at 4:46 am with the feeling not merely of being sleepy, but actual physical weariness. I didn't rise as early as I hope to, and I didn't get in any yoga before class -- I may pay for that indulgence later! The important thing is that I did get up, I made it through Week 2 of 7 of death camp. I feel tired, and I know I'm going to ache like mad later! But for now I feel like a million bucks! I really feel great, physically and in all ways proud of myself.
Test #1 in Art Class Last Night
Thank goodness it was multiple choice and true/false. I have great confidence in those portions (I should hope so! Because if I don't, there is a great problem here). There was one short "essay" question. I realize that Art Appreciation 1301 does not demand even a 5-paragraph essay. It doesn't even demand complete sentences. Still, I can't help nagging myself that I didn't write a conclusion, I just sort of spewed the information out there -- my answer was still twice as long as anyone else's that I observed. I hope I did well. I probably did. I hope so.

Surprise Date!
Ian called me at the end of my work day yesterday saying that his class schedule had changed up a little last night, and asking if I wanted to meet for a quick dinner before class? What a nice treat! That just made my whole day -- it was such a simple compliment from my partner. Knowing that he wanted even a little more time with me during the week just made me feel very loved and appreciated. Traffic was with me, and I had about 45 minutes. We took in our favorite Mexican place, the Blue Goose, and had time to spare. It was a lovely little interlude before class.
Today
My department is hosting its annual giant meeting of 80 or so people at a local hotel. Thank goodness I don't need to attend it all, but I am about to depart after finishing this for one of several trips over there today. Free parking = Excellent. I might get out of work early today? That'd be cool!
Ian starts midterms today. He was up late studying. I know one test concerns him as the professor has a reputation for favoring rote memorization which is Ian's least favorite thing in the world. He's also probably going to attend not one but two drawing classes today - possibly his penultimate least favorite thing in the world... No, I'm afraid I can't think of a third item just as an excuse to work in "antepenultimate," so this brief mention will have to do. Anyway, I hope he does well! He says he feels he's prepared and worked as well as he can thus far.
Gotta run,
